A group of architects and designers from Wilkus Architects took the time to visit the construction site for Abdallah Candies in Apple Valley, MN. While on site, the group learned more about a full size mock up of the masonry exterior finish, witnessed the interior floor slab being poured and discussed the pros and cons of pre-cast vs. cast-in-place concrete structural members.
In the images below, you can see the exterior of the retail space being prepped to receive the finish material. In addition, the interior spaces are in the process of pouring slabs and finishing the pre-cast wall panels. Information gained while in the field is an important part of an architect's job.
